Makarov 9 mm Pistol

Caliber: 9 mm x 19
Length: 6.3 inches
Weight: 1.8 pounds loaded
Capacity: 8 rounds

When the Makarov was introduced, it became the standard pistol for most Communist armed forces. Because the pistol grip was slightly bulky, it was claimed that firing it was uncomfortable. As shown, those Makarov's that had a star on the pistol grips, were manufactured in the Soviet Union. At the rear of the slide there was a safety catch and on the side, was a thumb operated slide stop. Carried by Officers and political operatives, it was considered a mark of rank among the NVA.
